Narrative

 We have been learning how to write a narrative. We had to rewrite the narrative story Catching the Sun. Here is a copy of my story.  I hope you like it.

The game of sheep.

This week, to end our procedure writing topic, we have been creating our own games. I made a digital board game. My theme was sheep.
 

Procedure Writing

We have been learning to write a procedure. A procedure has to have a title, goal, materials and steps. My steps have to be clear, specific and easy to follow.

 

My Speech.

My speech is kiwis I chose this topic because kiwis are important.

When I presented my speech I felt good. What I did well was use expression.

What I could have done better was use eye contact.

My Speech:

Have you ever wondered why Kiwis are important to New Zealand?  Kiwis are a flightless bird that are native to New Zealand. I believe that Kiwis are important to New Zealand. Here are my 3 reasons why.

Firstly kiwis lay big white eggs some people steal the eggs and take the eggs away and keep the eggs safe. They do this so animals such as dogs and stoats don’t destroy. They protect them until they are big enough to release.

Secondly, the Kiwi is a special New Zealand native animal.  They only live in New Zealand and tourists, as well as NZ people, come to see them in our native forests using their red torches.  We keep them safe in the Zoo so everyone can see them.

Finally, Kiwis are an icon for New Zealand.  We have a kiwi bank. We use an image of the kiwi on lots of products and sports teams. We even have beer bottles that have kiwis on it. 

I believe that the kiwi are very important. We should look after our kiwis before the kiwis get extinct.

Persuasive Writing

Today we listened to a story called Rufus goes to School. We had to decide if the Principal should let Rufus go to school with reasons.

Dont let the pigeon drive the bus

We listened to the story and gave reasons for or against letting the pigeon drive the bus.

Matariki Diamante Poem

For our learning about Matariki we had to write a diamante poem. 
We have to use nouns, adjectives and verbs to make our poem.

Rocket poems

For writing we had to write an Acrostic poem and a Shape poem

about Rockets. We had to use descriptive language.

Bubble Writing

This week we played with bubbles. We blew

bubbles outside Mrs Clarke had some really big

bubbles. We used juicy words to write a piece of writing. Here is my work. 

Hand Washing Procedure

This week we have refreshed our learning about how to wash our hands effectively. We completed
a procedure to show the steps. Here is my writing
